Halloween

One of the fun things of Fall is the carving of the pumpkins in preparation for Halloween. It was always a messy job best done outside if the weather was pleasant enough. We love toasting the pumpkin seeds after rinsing off and mixing with some sugar and cinnamon. It did make for a great weekend project.

Deciding what design, and trying to carve it was fun. The hard part was accepting that some designs and some pumpkins were not going to look anything like imagined. It took some time letting go of seeing all the mistakes. Learning to enjoy the experience more than the end result really made the tradition fun.
