Christmas Baking?

Are you feeling it this year?

Not sure that I am quite yet. There is so much writing work to do. In years past I tried to be done with any draft work by Thanksgiving and no plan to pick anything up and work on it until after the New Year. This is the first year that I have chosen to work so late in the year.

So close to the end of the revision work that it would be wrong to disrupt the flow. But it does make me wonder if I am pushing too hard. So far it seems this side of doable. But it does feel like  a thin line I’m walking.

I made a decision, a choice, to get this particular project done and published next year. If it isn’t, it is only because the polish final galley wasn’t able to be put in print until after January 1st 2027, not because the galley wasn’t ready for publication on December 31, 2026.

This is the home stretch before the beta read and last revision work before the polish and while baking is a beloved activity, staying the course is a priority, as bad as I feel about it. Some things are beyond a person’s control. You do what you can and keep plugging away.
