Writing Ideas

You may have heard of NANOWRIMO, which stood for National Novel Writing Month.  for years it was a nonprofit that has since ended. Every November, for thirty days writers would work on writing 1,667 words every day. Winning was completing 50,000 word novel, or the start of a longer one by the end of the month. It started in 1999 and ended this past Spring.

In 2009 a children’s writer started a picture book version, PiBoIdMo. This was renamed and moved to January in 2017. This was about coming up with at least one idea each day (30 ideas in 31 days currently).

There are also websites and books of writing prompts that can be used to help come up story ideas. In most cases I use my dreams as ideas, or something that peaks my curiosity during my day.

Story ideas generally aren’t my biggest problem. Writing blog post though is a different type of writing that I do often struggle with. Especially when starting a project of daily blogs for a short time like this one. So if you have a suggestion for a post, please leave it in the comments.
