Running Out of Ink

I really needed to go through my felt tips (Heart emoji Papermates) To find which ones are running out of ink. I was inspired by Andrea Nelson (link) Art.  I took a black Sharpie fine point and swirled and squiggled around a blank page. Placed all my felt tips out on the table and randomly picked them up in turn to fill in the colors. As each pen revealed whether it struggled to fill the space or had no problem they were sorted into piles. Those running out of ink are now gathered by a rubber band on my desk for use as my daily check list marker; that way I can use them up completely and my to do list looks fancy with all the pretty colors.

Many moms, my own and moms of my friends growing up, they would take a pen or marker and draw overlapping loops and lines on a piece of typing paper and leave us with crayons to color in the homemade coloring pages. Andrea’s video reminded me of that and it seemed like a really fun way to sort through my felt tip pens.
